A nice addition to any healthy kitchen, this fruits-and-vegetables electric juicer produces fresh juice with a simple turn of a knob. Just place a glass or pitcher under the spout, insert fruit or vegetables into the large feed chute (cutting over-sized items into smaller pieces if necessary), and gently and slowly press down using the included pusher. The machine accommodates anything from pineapple, melon, apples, oranges, and grapes to tomatoes, celery stalks, cucumbers, carrots, spinach, and more. Fresh produce contains the most juice, and only thick peels need to be removed--thin peels or skins can be left on. The unit comes equipped with a powerful 700-watt motor and two speed settings for simple one-handed operation that extracts pulp-free juice in minutes. Other highlights include a stainless-steel permanent-mesh filter and filter basket, a safety interlock switch, attractive chrome-plated housing, a high-impact see-through lid, a removable pulp container for easy cleaning, and non-skid rubber feet to ensure sturdy placement on a table or countertop. Dishwasher-safe parts make cleanup a snap, and a 3/4-quart juice jug and a filter-cleaning brush come included. The electric juicer measures approximately 14-1/2 by 10 by 18 inches.
Great upgrade Back in the day I had the old Juiceman Jr., which did it's job. Well it gave out a few years ago and cleaning it was a pain. I did miss fresh juice though so I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I tell you what they have done a wonderful job, this is a very nice upgrade from the old design. A lot of refinements throughout the entire appliance. Stronger motor, two speeds, better looking and much easier to clean. I defiantly recommend this and great price. Powerful and loud I bought this juicer last night at Walmart (it cost more there!). Once I read the assembly instructions and rinsed all the pieces in warm, soapy water, I put it together and tried it out. Wow! It's powerful! It went through those apples and carrots like nothing else. I like the cup that goes under the spout; it's not too small and doesn't splatter juice everywhere. I don't use the separator, though, because I like my juice frothy -- especially the orange juice. Anyway, I only juiced three carrots, three apples and three oranges last night, but the machine had no problem and never hinted at getting clogged. When I went to clean it I took the pieces off one at a time and rinsed them under hot water. The small amount of pulp came off very easily. The pulp was a little juicier than what came out of my old Jack LaLanne juicer, but I didn't mind because it made it easier to rinse off. The only part that was difficult to clean was the mesh filter, but the included brush helped a lot; and I don't see how you could make one of those easy to clean anyway. I had placed a plastic bag in the pulp bin, so I didn't even have to clean that. When I woke up this morning I put the machine back together -- after letting it air dry in my sink strainer -- and juiced some more of the same. It was much easier to assemble and disassemble this time because I knew what I was doing. All in all it took only about 10-15 minutes to juice three glasses -- one apple, one orange, one carrot -- and clean everything. I love this juicer! It's not too big and will not stain because it's stainless steel, which is great. My only complaint is that it is quite loud (scares the dog), but since I live alone it's not like I'm going to wake anyone up. I will keep experimenting with new fruits and vegetables, and if I ever have any problems I'll be sure to report them here. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this juicer. I'm addicted to juicing! I love this juicer. My mom got a juicer a few months ago and it worked well but I read reviews on the Juiceman JM400 and it seemed like a good one. I've been juicing almost everyday since I received it. I can put as many fruits/veggies in one juice as I want. I just check the filter to make sure it doesn't need to be cleaned. Easy clean up overall. Once you know how all the pieces fit together it's easy to detach, clean and reassemble. I feel so good about all the good juice I'm drinking but even more, my kids love it and it's so good for them. My 7 year old son is not a big fruit and veggie eater but I can give him a juice that has five or six different fruits and he loves it. The Juiceman JM400 has easy clean up, a powerful motor and I love the stainless steel because I read reviews on some of the white juicers and they stained easily. My juicer still looks brand new and no stains. Great product!

Time to Juice! Last year (2008) our little planting of grapes finally started producing. We borrowed a steam juicer and were able to can about 42 quarts of grape juice (along with eating a bunch and selling some). The juicer was so nice that we decided to purchase our own. This Norpro Juicer Steamer has many of the features we were looking for. Stainless steel. Good capacity. We also liked this unit because of the glass lid which allows you to know how the process is going without opening it up (one thing we didn't like with the steamer we borrowed last year). I also noticed that the handles are designed to remain cooler than the other unit - another good feature of this steamer.

The perfect citus jucer! I'm getting ready to buy another one for a friend. That's all I have to say I guess. It's very powerful (you can't stop it by hand, unless you want to get hurt) and very efficient... Get's all the juice and doesn't leave a drop. Extreemely easy to clean. awesome juicer Love this juicer. Its easy to use, simple to clean. Small enough to leave on the counter. Sometimes the inner skin on the grapefruit gets caught up. Just move it around alittle and it will free itself. I use big & small grapefruits, oranges & lemons. Cleans in couple minutes & ready to go again. LOVE IT. Ordering another one I just purchased one of these and I'm quite happy with it. It's powerful, easy to use and easy to clean. My Mother-in-law loves fresh juice for breakfast so I'm ordering her one also. She is 82 years old and she will be able to use this machine, no problem.

Easy to use I bought this becaue my plastic juicer finally broke. This juicer is so easy to use & clean I wish I purchased it sooner. It looks great & I use it all the time. Great item-super quality. Works fine It works as the title indicates....brilliant. The only down fall is that it's not dishwasher safe and us lazy people hate to wash dishes. Quality and Great Looks This juicer turned out to have a much nicer finish than I expected. This is an excellently crafted and durable tool that will last many years. One word of caution, this item is not intended for cleaning in a dishwasher, hand wash is recommended... Not a problem at all for me, but it might be a concern for some.

Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer, Snow White
From Hurom

A revolutionary new design in Juice extractors that will turn other juicers on the market upright! The Hurom Slow juicer takes the single auger design made popular first by Samson, Solo Star and Omega Juicers, and takes the concept one step further. The hurom slow juicer will juice fruits, vegetables and even wheatgrass, slowly and efficiently. More efficiently than other single auger style juicers. Dual Stage Juicing - juice is extracted through the first crushing stage and before the pulp is ejected, it is then squeezed during the second pressing stage; resulting in more juice, and extremely dry pulp. Higher yields - in-house testing found the Hurom Slow Juicer yielded 50% more juice than a centrifuge juicer in 50% of the time. Economical - Get the greatest amount of juice from the least amount of fruits. Peels and skins can be also used in various pastries, jams, soups, etc. Better Juice, Healthier Juice - Enjoy more antioxidants, better flavor and superior freshness of your juice. No frothing or foaming, and none of the separation that occurs with other juicers. Self Cleaning - Simply pour water through to self clean the juicer when changing to another fruit, vegetable or leafy green. Save time! Small Footprint - all of the performance of a masticating single auger juicer, but with less space requirements than most centrifuge-style juicers. Vegetable Juice - The Hurom juicer excels at making juice out of your favorite leafy greens and wheatgrass. Silence - The Hurom juicer minimizes the noise by squeezing slowly rather than grinding at high speed like centrifugal juicers. The 8x harder auger is manufactured out of GE Ultem material. Includes fine and coarse dual stage screens, pulp extraction plugs, self-cleaning screen holder, two 50 oz. juicing cups, tamper, brush, and instruction manual.

Perfect! I juice every day and could not be happier with this juicer! I use it to juice carrots, greens, apples, berries.... I have no problem juicing any of these and the ejected pulp is very dry. It is also very fast, I have spent a lot of time in the past using other juicers that take a lot of time. This is as fast as a high-power centrifugal juicer, but only works at 80 rpm! A great way to get high quality juice, fast. My favorite part about it is how easy it is to clean. I can easily be done cleaning in 3 minutes! I have owned many different types of juicers and nothing I have ever used compares to this. If you are serious about juicing, this is a great investment that you will be happy with. Disappointed with this Juicer For the last four years I've used a centrifugal juicer and always wanted a masticating juicer, but never bought one because I knew some of them had problems juicing fruits, and also that they're very slow. So, when I saw the advertisement for this "slow" juicer that was fast and which could juice both leafy greens and fruits equally well, I was very excited. I raptly watched the video demonstrations of its capabilities and ordered it promptly. Some of its purported advantages of extremely dry pulp, more juice, little to no foam, etc. have fallen far short of the promises made. I notice no increased amount of juice, the foam is absolutely no less than it was with a centrifugal juicer, and UNLIKE my trusty centrifigual juicer the Hurom does a LOUSY job of juicing greens. Just try to juice a leaf of Kale and you'll find it gets all wound up around the screw that is supposed to be chewing it up. It's a mess! I have to stop, put it in reverse, which makes the top come off, then unplug it, stick my hands down around the screw and try to get some of the stuck kale out. And, if you are going to juice a green like kale, do it last or anything you try to juice afterwards will also get stuck around the screw with the kale and not get juiced. I have also NOT noticed any less separation than the juice created with my centrifugal juicer. So, that's a bust, too. On the positive side, here are some things I do like about it better than my centrifugal -- it's blessedly quiet, the juice doesn't spit out at high velocity causing splashing everywhere, also small berries and things like pomengranate seeds are easier to juice since they're not trying to jump back out the top of the juicer like they do with the high-speed velocity of the centrifugal juicer. So, if this is your first juicer, you'll probably be pretty happy with it. If you're a seasoned juicer and are looking to buy up, however, for the money I think I'd wished I'd gone for the twin auger juicer instead. Hurom Is My Choice - Love it! I'm extremely happy with my Hurom juicer. To me, it's the best of both worlds between the fast juicing Breville and the slow juicing Green Star. The Hurom is a fast juicer, SUPER EASY cleanup, fun and easy to use, and I love it. I get plenty of juice in one session, which is great. It quickly and efficiently juices greens like kale and romaine while flawlessly juicing cucumbers, apples, and other "watery" fruits. The pulp varied from dry (hearty leafy greens, like kale) to semi-moist (romaine, apples, etc). The juice typically had little foam, but it would depend on what I juiced to determine that. I like to strain my juice quickly with a nut milk bag after making it anyway, so if there is a little pulp or foam on it, it gets held back when straining. I love the warranty, too. I have three juicers: Green Star, Breville and the Hurom. If I didn't have any of them... knowing what I know now, I'd get the Hurom. PS... It also juices wheat grass, which I haven't done, but have heard it's capable of it. That's great!

I'm in love! I LOVE, LOVE this juicer!! I had read a lot of reviews from different sites (positive and very negative ones!). I don't understand those that complain about how slow and "messy" the juicer is...messy?! are u kidding me? this juicer is not messy at all, the clean up is easy; just rinse under the tap and leave out to dry. I didn't even have to use the little brush to scrub the parts. As for speed...Juicing isn't fast food!! Don't be put off by people saying that the juicer is slow; I previously had a centrifugal type juicer (and those things are fast!), although the Omega is slower, once you start juicing you'll have a glass of juice in less than five minutes. For those complaining that they have to chop up the vegs into small pieces, give me break and don't be lazy! if you actually bother to chop your veg/fruit into appropriate sizes, all you do is drop it in and the juicer takes care of the rest all on it's own, you don't even have to bother to push it in with that plunger thing. Some have mentioned that it doesn't juice carots too well; this one was a big concern of mine, but I found no problem with juicing carrots, it juices them just fine for my taste. I found myself using a little less of what I usually use to make juice, so this juicer makes plenty of juice! I haven't used the other features yet (I bought this mainly for juicing), but I'm sure I will be impressed. Buy this juicer, you won't be disappointed and your mind and body will thank you. Peace Omega Quality For Leafy Greens- I purchased this juicer at least partially out of curiosity. I've had a Champion 25+ years, an Acme for 20, and Breville, L'Equip and Omega centrifugal juicers. The problem with these centrifugals is that they are awful for leafy greens. The Champion will do leafy greens okay, but I was interested in higher yield. Plus, I do enjoy a shot of wheatgrass and the Champion won't do it at all. I looked at both twin-gear and single-auger types. Twin-gear juicers are still being developed, so I ended up single-auger. After watching the TriBest infomercial demonstrated by some babe who acted like she was on cocaine, I went to Omega. My Omega centrifugal works flawlessly. I purchased the 8003 over the 8005 or 8006 because I like white appliances. The 8003 is heavier than it appears in photos. However, it is quite compact, smaller than my Champion. Assembly is quite simple; the auger housing, auger, screen and end cone fit logically and the locking wheels are able to be operated with wet hands. As stated by another reviewer, the feed tube is not large; if one wants to drop whole pieces of fruit in this isn't the juicer for you. This is by far the quietest juicer I've owned. No, where this juicer excels is with leafy greens. It will happily chomp its way through any green one wants. Unlike the Champion, stringy greens such as celery won't accidentally get wound around the auger. The trick with this juicer is to let the slow-turning auger feed at its own speed, helped with the pusher. BTW if anyone wants to see this juicer in action, go to YouTube and there are several excellent demos. I can run several carrots at a time through the big-mouth Breville; not on this juicer. However, of course, the Breville won't do leafy greens as this one does! The downside to a white juicer is that carrots and beets can stain. Doesn't bother me, but if that could be a problem, buy the chrome finish one with black peripherals. I know there has been a model 8006 introduced recently with an auger that's supposed to be several times harder than the melamine one used here. For ~$125 more, I don't see the benefit. I expect the price on the 8006 will drop when the novelty wears off. If one wants to juice carrots, apples, and other firm fruit, a centrifugal will probably be the juicer of choice. I still use mine for these. However, if one wants to increase leafy greens in one's diet, one of these will definitely fill the bill. Sweeeeet! I LOVE this thing! What more can I say?? I got it based on positive reviews and I have NOT been disappointed. It even gets all the oil out of flax seeds when I run them through--the waste is dry as cardboard! With juicier things like grapefruit I have to run them through a couple times but it only takes a second, and it's worth it. It gets all the liquid out of anything--wheatgrass, seeds, fennel...definitely worth it!

The durable, stainless steel design looks great on any counter and full digital control makes juicing easier than ever. A Host of Helpful Juicing Features
Great Design Improvements! This design is a great improvement over other Juiceman juicers. The stainless steel body is easy to clean. The polycarbon top has a wider feed opening and easy to clean with a micro fiber cloth. The same for the polycarbon waste bin. The juicers power gives 10% more juice from each fruit or veggie. The (3) power levels are great to adjust for soft to hard items. Plus you get a polycarbon container with a splash and foam control lid. As good as it gets I have been juicing for a lot of years using a variety of juice extractors, and the Juiceman JM503 is far and away the best juicer I have ever used or have seen my friends use. It is powerful, easy to use, and a breeze to clean up. Whoever designed this machine gave it a lot of thought and testing. I know I should be able to find at least one chink in the armor, but I cant see anything I would change. Thanks for a great product: I would recommend this to friends and family as well, without fear of it bouncing back to me. Juiceman Pro JM503 I was disappointed with this juicer which was recommended by a Juice woman & nutritionist when I attended a raw food party at her house. I wanted to buy it for a while but was watching by budget. I finally bought it on sale at Amazon. ...but was disappointed: it is loud, I prefer a quieter juicer & the juice shoots out too fast. It is not as easy to clean as the Juice woman said. I used to own a single gear juicer Samson & was pleased with it as it is quiet & never get stuck. It got old & I had to got rid of it. I will stick to the single gear juicer.

Kuvings GMPD931U Centrifugal Juicer, Orange

Amazing Juicer! Kuvings Juicer NJ-9310U, FREE Shipping Available! I got this juicer as a birthday present and was over the moon about it. I intended to purchase the other juicer however the store was out of them. After I purchased this juicer, my parents saw how much better my juicer was than theirs. They immediately purchased Kuvings Juicer. This was an amazing juicer, I've ever seen. When I first met this, it came well packed. The juicer was very easy to set up and use even without reading the manual. I made fresh juice every morning with ease. I stucked in a whole apple and the juicer made a cup of apple juice like nothing. The juice was surprisingly smooth. I was very impressed. A powerful motor seemed to shred evreythng. I was really satisfied the noise of the powerful motor. It was also very easy to clean up. It just took all of 5 minutes if you're through. Even comes with its own scrub brush. It worked very well to scrub the metal inner piece that strains the juice. This was the only part I washed by hand. It could be rinsed and put through the dishwasher. The juice is very smooth and frothy. I highly recommend this juicer to friends! Very Pleased I just received my Kuvings Juicer the other day and used it for the first time this morning. It is everything they say it is - it's fast, easy to use, easy to take apart and clean. No tiny, fussy pieces to scrub. It's LOUD, but it's because it spins so fast to extract every drop of juice in whatever you throw in it - and the mesh screen the juice passes through is the finest I've seen so far - so the juice you end up with, even if it's thick is very smooth. I especially love the huge feed tube on it - I juiced a half of a honeydew melon this morning [only had to cut it up into 3 pieces!], rind and all and it ground it up like butter. My previous juicer was a very expensive Green Power juicer that was much more complicated to use, with a lot more parts, took up a LOT more room on the counter and wasn't nearly as good [at 4x the cost of this one!]. I honestly cannot WAIT to use it again. Love it. Highly recommend it. Kuvings Juicer I bought this juicer from Amazon back in August and have been moderately using it twice a week for the past three months in order to give it the best possible review. I had no experience with juicers and compared various reviews to finally make up my mind buying this one. I am glad I made the right decision. The two previous reviewers have said most of what I want to say. However I want to caution users to set it on a non-slip surface when using the high speed to juice fruits with peels on. Since the motor is kind of powerful, it will vibrate violently if a piece of peel is not ejected out of the basket quickly (like apples and oranges). I always peel and cut my oranges in half. The apples can be simply cut and juiced. I have no problem with celery and carrots at any speed. I use high speed for Honeydew and melon. Watch the bin and empty it as often as you can. I like the design. It gives vivace accent to my kitchen countertop. I highly recommend it.

Good juicer for the price, but leaves a lot to be desired. I have owned several different juicers. Given that this is a "TV" juicer (and cheaply priced) I was very skeptical. Still, with the good reviews, I thought I'd try it.Like any product it has its pluses and minuses. So I actually have several juicers.I'm not about to throw away my Acme juicer, but the Power Juicer has earned its place in my kitchen. The Acme costs two or three times more, and is made of stainless steel mostly. Don't get me wrong, the power juicer is pretty good, but it is almost all plastic. It only has a 90-day warranty (except for the motor). So I don't think Jack LaLanne has a whole lot of faith in the product.Second, the blade is thin - I'm afraid it will wear down quicly, but I could by wrong. On the plus side though, it is convenient to have the pulp ejection. And it does seem to make more juice than some centrifugal juicers I have owned. In addition it is great being able to put most fruits in whole, instead of having to cut them into smaller pieces.Initially I said it was hard to clean. But now that I've gotten used to just throwing all the parts in the dishwasher, I've changed my mind. It cleans up easily.Unfortunately most of it is plastic so it stains from the fruits and vegetables (like carrots).Because you can't use cellulose filters, the juice is gritty (compared to the Acme 6001). The juice from the Acme is smooth with no detectable particules in it. The juice from the power juicer was noticeably gritty. But sometimes that is good - if for example you want to orange juice with some pulp to it.I recommend this product if you are going to be a casual juicer. However I'm concerned that with daily juicing, it might not hold up like one made of mostly steel. Great Little Juicer Not having a lot of time for juicing in the morning before work, I purchased this juicer because of the large chute feature. I like being able to juice whole pieces of fruit at one time, instead of having to cut the pieces up as with the Juiceman Jr. that I had before. This juicer IS quieter as stated in the ad. The pulp is not dry as stated. But it was a little drier than that of my former juicer. I also think the quantity and quality of juice is better. The only adjustment I had to make was in cleaning. Instead of being able to lift the whole basket/blade assembly out and clean it as one piece, as with the Juiceman Jr., this juicer comes with a tool that you use to unscrew the blade and remove it as a seperate piece from the basket. Although the bigger size of all of the pieces makes clean up a little easier, the extra step adds to cleaning time when you are on the go. I guess this is a fair exchange for not having to cut up the items to be juiced. All in all I would say that this is a good product for the money. By the way, my Juiceman Jr. was all plastic. I had it for over 8 years and it held up very well. This juicer seems to be sturdier than that one. If you buy one, get the deluxe model. The extras are very useful for a little more money. A Healthy Lifestyle Change NOTE: I want to say first that I have the Deluxe Model and was very surprised and concerned after reading some of the reviews. I have not experienced some of the issues described; but will give my honest assessment below. Is it hard for you to eat your vegetables and have enough fruit servings in a day? It was for me; so I decided to buy another juicer. My last juicer had a very small spout and you had to cut up everything before you put it into the juicer; and it was extremely noisy. I got rid of it because it did not measure up. I purchased the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer and have been very pleased with it. I read the other reviews and I will try to respond to them as well based upon my own experiences. First, for me the juicer that I have has been excellent. I juice fruits and most vegetables. You have to insert soft vegetables followed by hard vegetables for it to work optimally. I have had no problems following the directions which indicate that this works best. I have made some wonderful drinks with the Power Juicer. Here is one called the Energy Boost Drink which I love: 1 Carrot 1 Celery Stalk 1 Beet Root Parsley Lettuce Watercress Spinach 3 Tomatoes Salt To Taste It is terrific and the machine does an exceptional job with very little pulp at all. I don't think the machine does as well with grasses. Especially if you are not following them up with a hard vegetable or fruit upon insertion. However, the following fruits and vegetables have worked well for me (I have used all of these in juices so far): FRUITS: Pineapple, Apples, Guava, Papaya, Oranges, tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupes, honeydew, limes, lemons, strawberries, grapes and blueberries only if followed by a hard fruit, grapefruit, mangoes, raspberries only if followed by a hard fruit, kiwi, peaches (pitted), pears VEGETABLES AND HERBS: Carrots, Celery, Beet Root, Parsley, Lettuce, Watercress, Spinach, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Peppers, Ginger Root, Kale, Fennel Bulb, Horseradish Root, Garlic, Onion, Cilantro, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Lemongrass I have the Power Juicer Deluxe (I BOUGHT IT IN A STORE - MODEL CALLED DELUXE) and I have now learned that there is a Power Juicer Elite which does even a better job with soft fruits, nuts and soy. In the Elite Model, you can make your own soy milk, almond milk while extracting the juice from the nuts, themselves. You can even put plums, peaches and cherries in whole. For the reviewer who is interested in a more advanced technology to handle the grasses and the soft fruits better, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting the Power Juicer Elite model. Just be careful to check out which model you are actually getting because there are "slight" differences between them. I did find with the Deluxe model that the lemongrass and the berries if not followed by a hard fruit or vegetable did not work as well. However, the Power Juicer Elite should work well for those looking for soy technology (rice milk, coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk). ABOUT THE DISHWASHER: I have found the dishwasher to be perfectly safe for all of the components, but I only put them on the top shelf. I would not trust them close to the heating element of the dishwasher. I honestly have put all components in the dishwasher with no problem (only top shelf). In fact, many times I clean the juicer components easily with the sprayer in less than 5 minutes; and it does not seem that difficult for me; although I use it every day and maybe I have gotten use to it. You can also purchase separately from Jack LaLanne a special scrub brush which works extremely well in cleaning the filter very quickly and safely. I would recommend that additional purchase and it can be found on the Jack LaLanne site under Accessories. Here are some of the different models and what they offer the user: POWER JUICER ORIGINAL * Special Patented * Extraction Technology * Extra-Large Round Feeder * Super-Sized Detachable * Pulp Collector * Dishwasher Safe * Whisper-Quiet Operation * 3,600 RPM Motor Has * Lifetime Guarantee * Built-In Safety Features * Surgical-Quality * Stainless Steel Blade * Commercial Quality POWER JUICER PRO: * Stainless Steel Body (THIS IS REALLY THE ONLY DIFFERENCE FROM THE ORIGINAL WHICH IS WHITE) * Special Patented * Extraction Technology * Extra-Large Round Feeder * Super-Sized Detachable * Pulp Collector * Dishwasher Safe * Whisper-Quiet Operation * 3,600 RPM Motor Has * Lifetime Guarantee * Built-In Safety Features * Surgical-Quality * Stainless Steel Blade * Commercial Quality POWER JUICER EXPRESS: (ONLY DIFFERENCE FROM ORIGINAL IS THE NO DRIP SPOUT AND A LITTLE SMALLER FOOTPRINT) NEW! Compact Design * NEW! No Drip Spout * Special Patented * Extraction Technology * Extra-Large Round Feeder * Super-Sized Detachable * Pulp Collector * Dishwasher Safe * Whisper-Quiet Operation * 3,600 RPM Motor Has * Lifetime Guarantee * Built-In Safety Features * Surgical-Quality * Stainless Steel Blade * Commercial Quality POWER JUICER PLATINUM: (ONLY DIFFERENCE FROM ORIGINAL IS THE PLATINUM EXTERIOR: * Special Patented * Extraction Technology * Extra-Large Round Feeder * Super-Sized Detachable * Pulp Collector * Dishwasher Safe * Whisper-Quiet Operation * 3,600 RPM Motor Has * Lifetime Guarantee * Built-In Safety Features * Surgical-Quality Stainless * Steel Blade * Commercial Quality POWER JUICER ELITE: (THIS IS WHERE THERE ARE MAJOR DIFFERENCES, WHOLE CHERRIES, NUTS, PEACHES, PLUMS,ETC. WITH PITS CAN BE INSERTED INTO JUICER; YOU CAN MAKE SOY, RICE ALMOND MILK, NEW NO DRIP SPOUT, SOY TECHNOLOGY, AN INDUCTION MOTOR, IT NOW CLAIMS FRUIT AND VEGETABLE JUICES (BUT IT ALSO DOES FRUITS WITH PITS LIKE PEACHES AND PLUMS WHICH FOR THE ORIGINAL MODEL..YOU HAD TO TAKE OUT THE PITS FIRST..NOW YOU CAN PUT THEM ALL IN WHOLE: CORE, PIT AND ALL) ALL NEW! Soy Technology * Commercial Quality * Induction Motor * Fruit Juices and * Vegetable Juices * Special Patented * Extraction Technology * Extra-Large Round Feeder * Super-Sized Detachable * Pulp Collector * Dishwasher Safe * Whisper-Quiet Operation * Built-In Safety Features * Surgical-Quality * Stainless Steel Blade * Non-Drip Spout * 3,600 RPM Motor Has * Lifetime Guarant ee So be careful what model you get, the Original is still the best bargain in white (although berry stain can be a problem with white plastic), it also comes in stainless and that in itself may be more expensive. If I wanted to upgrade, I would select the Elite. The original and all of its components are dishwasher safe; but only for the top shelf and not near any heating element. Grasses do not work optimally with the Original and you have to alternate soft fruits followed by hard ones as well. For those folks who are looking for that added power, the Elite should suffice and do an excellent job or look for a wheat grass juicer if that is your focus. For me, the Original Deluxe is a terrific machine for the price and I am thinking now about upgrading to the Elite at some time in the future. I love it and I love the juices. Hope the above review gives you an idea of which model might work better for you. The Original in white can be found in stores for much much less. Additionally, you can buy platforms so the machine sits higher and then you can use a full size glass; much easier. I also prop mine on a cutting board and that helps too. The platform can also be purchased separately. Enjoy your raw vegetables and fruits effortlessly. You can have seven raw vegetables a day in a single glass and never have to worry about getting enough vegetables again. Bentley/2007 Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Deluxe Version

Juicing is a healthful way to eat fruits and veggies, and the Waring Juice Extractor takes juicing to the next level. A high-speed 400-watt motor makes the extraction process efficient, and makers of carrot juice will especially appreciate the brushed stainless-steel housing--the extractor won't turn orange with age. Everyone who's ever owned a juicer knows that cleanup is the biggest downfall of home juicing. With the Waring, that won't be an issue--the compact strainer, pulp collector, lid, and juice collector are all dishwasher-safe, and the stainless-steel body wipes clean with a sponge. The extractor's die-cast base stays steady on the countertop, and its cushioned feet will minimize vibration, protecting the countertop from scratches. The extractor comes with an instruction book and a 90 day limited appliance warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings Editor's note: This is a reconditioned small appliance. Terrific value for under $25 I've wanted a juicer for a long time, but could never really justify the expense, knowing that I'd very likely quickly tire of the maintenance involved. When I saw this juicer for under $25, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. When I opened the box, I was immediately impressed with the unit's solid construction. You can see right away that this isn't a plastic piece of junk that's going to break righ away. With the unit's first use, I juiced: cabbage, kale, spinach, carrots, onions and peppers. The unit - while not as powerful as more expensive models, I'm sure - juiced up everything with no hesitation. I would describe the pulp to be damp, but not what I'd call really wet. I dreaded the juicer clean-up process that I'd heard so much about. Disassembly of the unit is a breeze. There are basically three main parts to remove and it takes all of thirty-seconds. No problem. If there's one thing I could change, it would be a better designed pulp-catcher that would allow a bag to be used. This is only a minor gripe and has in no way made me regret the purchase. If you are a casual juicer, looking to get your feet wet without spending a ton of money, this would be a perfect choice. I'm still amazed that I got this for under $25 and I'd recommend it without hesitation. What a bargain! I got this thing for $25 and it was definitely money well-spent. It juices anything I throw at it and is stylish and easy to clean. Despite being reconditioned, when it showed up I wouldn't have known it wasn't new if the site hadn't said reconditioned. Waring Juice Extractor First, this juicer is marked down which is a red flag. I'll tell you why. THe feed chute is incredibly small. You have to cut everytning into narrow pieces so it fits in. THe pulp collector is inside the machine and gets filled very fast. I was juicing about 6 carrots with a few sticks of celery. The pulp catcher was full already. I hate the fact that I need to disassemble the machine and dump the pulp container more often than I should. At $50, it may see like it's a bargain and if you're juicing once a week then it may be but if you're planning on using this every day and juice a lot of vegetables then forget about it. It is a hassle. There are way better juicers to be found for a few bucks more.

Factory-Reconditioned Breville XX800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor
From Breville

Breville Refurbished Die-Cast Juice Extractor XX800JEXL with 3 inch patented feed tube allows for juicing whole fruits, juices an 8 oz. glass of juice in less 5 seconds, titanium cutting disc blades and micromesh filter give maximum juice extraction, 1000 watts of power, high and low speed, 1 liter juice jug with froth separator and cleaning brush included.
Amazon Sales Rank: #60200 in Kitchen & Housewares Brand: Breville Model: XX800JEXL Dimensions: 18.25" h x 10.25" w x 16.50" l,
Make great-tasting fresh fruit or vegetable drinks at home with this efficient juicer from Breville. The unit's Italian-made 1000-watt (1-1/3 horsepower) motor delivers ultimate power and durability, while its built-in electronic "smart chip" regulates power to the blades, depending on the juicing load. The juicer's patented, dual-action, diagonal knife blades are encased by a titanium-plated stainless-steel cutting disc, which features 115 individual knives to grind pulp into the tiniest particles. The machine's circular three-inch stainless feed tube easily processes whole fruits and vegetables without pre-cutting, slicing, or dicing. The patented design centers the feed tube directly over the cutter, providing the strength to process large quantities of fruit and vegetables instantly. For harder fruits and vegetables, like apples and carrots, the juicer's high speed delivers a crushing 13,000 RPM, approximately three times faster than most other machines. At such speeds, the pulp particles are "g-forced" against the stainless-steel micro-mesh filter with tremendous pressure to squeeze out as much juice as possible. An 8-ounce glass of juice from whole apples takes less than five seconds. Low speed spins at a whisper-quiet 6500 RPMs, which delivers the best results when juicing leafy vegetables, or softer fruits such as watermelons or oranges. A 34-fluid-ounce (1 liter) juicing pitcher, a large 100-fluid-ounce pulp container, and a cleaning brush are included, and dishwasher-safe parts make cleanup a snap. Housed in beautiful die-cast stainless steel, the juicer measures 8 by 9 by 19 inches and carries a 90-day warranty. Editor's note: This is a reconditioned small appliance. Reconditioned generally means that the appliance has been returned to the manufacturer, who returns the appliance to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes.
The Best Juicer Value Yet! NOTE: The refurb unit DOES come with a brush and all of the parts that Amazon lists. Do NOT believe the reviewer below who stated that this is not the case. In fact, one of the units I purchased actually included TWO brushes - maybe I got his! :) This is a fantastic value. I've purchased 2 of them so far, one was a gift. I was so delighted with the quality and convenience of this juicer that I gave one to my most valued employee. The unit is extremely well constructed and designed. The feel, fit and finish are all excellent. We use this juicer daily and we are amazed at how fast and efficiently it produces juice of all types. Use and cleanup are both fast and easy with this model. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't tried other juicers. The juicing basket drops in, press into place, install the top cover, snap the locking bar into place, slide the pulp container under the cover, place the juice pitcher under the nozzle and you are ready to go. We also have a "world famous" Champion Juicer which we had previously thought was as good as it gets. The Breville 800 blows it away in terms of convenience, ease of use, no mess/no fuss, and features; low speed for soft fruit and leafy veggies, and high speed for firmer fruit and veggies. Another advantage with the Breville is that it is very efficient in extracting the most juice from the fruits and vegetables. The single most important fact with the Breville is that the ease of use/cleanup will make it more likely that you will use it to make beneficial, healthy, juices. If a juicer is a pain to put together, use and clean you will be less inclined to use it a few months after purchase. Not so with the Breville 800, it is easy to use and clean making it a pleasure to juice. The operational design of the Breville 800 is extremely well thought out, the pulp goes into an included, cavernous container and the juice goes into the included pitcher. The spout shown in the photo is totally enclosed in an opening in the pitcher so that no juice leaks anywhere but directly into the pitcher (as designed) - the same for the pulp output. You can make over a quart of juice in minutes - uninterrupted by the need to empty a container. I highly recommend this product and the remanufactured units are a great value. All of the "consumable" parts are brand new. Of the two units I bought one had a small scratch on the housing while the other was in perfect condition. The scratch in no way will effect the operation of the unit and is tolerable in light of this great price. There is one minor complaint: The lid on the juice pitcher will fall off while you are pouring juice which can create a big mess and some loss of juice. The lid should have some sort of retention mechanism. I suggest removing the lid before pouring to avoid this problem. [Edit: After more experience with the pouring problem we first experienced we now find it better to simply hook a finger over the lid of the juice pitcher while pouring to hold the lid on. The lid contains a skimmer which retains the foam which occasionally develops at the top of the juice. While I don't mind the foam, my wife prefers that it be removed.] Further thought: While some have complained of the noise that this unit makes I do not find it at all excessive. Especially in light of the high power and fast output. Sure you could have a quieter motor but it would be more likely to wear out in a short time. The motor on the Breville is powerful but not at all overly noisy. 7/20/08 Update: We continue to use this juicer every day and are still extremely satisfied! Superb value. Our favorite juice (for 2 large glasses) 7-8 organic carrots, 1 to 2 apples (Gala or Fuji), 1/2 organic beet (about a golf ball size) for a wonderfully refreshing and healthy juice cocktail. Both my wife and I feel a noticeable increase in energy and the powerful psychological satisfaction of knowing that we are getting the freshest, purest juice money can buy. 11/5/09 Update: The Breville is still going strong and we are continuing to juice daily. The high quality of the design, materials and peformance of this unit leads me to believe that it could easily last many years to come. We love our favorite juice listed in the 7/20/08 update above and never get tired of drinking it. The Breville has been problem free for over a year and a half and we are still using the first cutter basket that came with the unit. We might need a new cutter basket in another 6 months or so - time will tell. The instructions do indicate that this is a wear item that needs replacement as needed. This item continues to earn 5+ stars out of 5 in our opinion. Amazing Juicer at a Fantastic Price - Buy This!! This juice extractor is a great deal and is by far the most powerful & efficient unit with the highest yield I've seen. While a bit noisy, it runs quieter than my blender. And cleanup is surprisingly easy (esp. if a plastic bag is put in the pulp container). It's large - comparable to a large stand mixer or food processor, but is quick to put together & tear down. Another post warns that the brush and pitcher were not included. They came with mine. I checked and it included everything the new one does. Aside from a few small blemishes it looks new and performs flawlessly. My only warning is that you prepare to buy more produce. It juices things in no time. I spend more time washing the produce than actually juicing it. The recipes in the manual are quite good, plus there are MANY recipes online and in juicing books. Of course the real bonus is that you can't buy fresher juice. An unexpected feature I stumbled on occurred once when I assembled the unit incorrectly (& in a hurry; hard to believe as assembly is dead simple) - it wouldn't run. Naturally at first I blamed the unit, but, at length, discovered I hadn't completely seated the collector & top. At 13,00 rpm that could've been a disaster. So, after only few days ownership, I've used it at least 10 times and have thoroughly enjoyed delicious results. Highly recommended! Breville Juice Fountain Elite This is the best juicer out there! Easy to use & clean. It juices fast without the loud noise of our old non Breville machine. Shipping was fast and safe. Very happy with my purchase.

A Complete Guide that Doesn't Take Itself too Seriously! Allow me to be blunt--I don't buy into the whole health-craze notion that juicing is the silver bullet for ultimate physical health and spiritual awakening. I'm just a no-frills, moderately healthy woman who wants to enjoy the luxury of fresh-squeezed juices in her own kitchen without having to pay a gourmet price for them. To that end, I splurged on a good but affordable juice extractor and bought this book to learn the basics of making homemade juices. As with everything I purchase online, I checked out other customers' reviews of various juicing information and cookbooks beforehand, and Rodnitzky's book appeared to contain what I needed without too much fru-fru, "juicing will change your life" craziness. What I found when the book arrived was that not only does Ultimate Juicing provide all the basic information one needs to make healthy and delicious juices at home, it also avoids the pitfalls of hard-sell promotional content("these recipes will work best with such-and-such brand juice extractor") and extravagant expectations for juicing's health and/or spiritual benefits. In 8 concise, sensible chapters, Rodnitzky describes the nutritional value of fresh-made juices; proper selection, preparation, and storage of produce; juicer selection (without the hard-sell: the juicers are described in terms of operation with brand names mentioned only as examples); and recipes for basic, health-boosting, exotic, and alcoholic juice drinks. The core information and excellent variety of recipes easily offset the silliness of the recipe titles, and the comprehensive index makes the book a handy reference for everyday use in the kitchen. I would recommend this book for veteran and novice juicers alike, regardless of their physical fitness or spiritual level. Good recipes and a lot of fluff My wife and I bought this book because we wanted Juice recipes. We already own a juicer and we do not need to be sold on the benefits of Juicing. Nevertheless, this author, like many authors of these types of books, felt it necessary to devote a considerable portion of the book talking about why you should be juicing and the health benefits of juicing fresh fruits and vegetables. Needless to say, we ignore those portions of the book (along with the section on how to choose a juicer or how to garnish a drink). But, despite all the fluff, there are good juice recipes in this book and an excellent table which gives the nutritional statistics for individual fruits and vegetables. In addition to this the book also gives a nutritional summary for each drink. It's the juice book I've been looking for for 10 years! Like a lot of people, I love juicing, but I've been through too many juice books that place juicing alongside acupuncture, healing crystals and tarot cards as if drinking juice was going to bring me to a higher spirtual level. Look, if that works for you, more power to you, but what I want out of a juice book is two things - great recipes and some fun. This book has both. The recipes are outstanding - you'll find some drinks in here that at first glance seem a little strange, maybe even disturbing, but give them a try and you'll never go back to just fresh squeezed orange juice. The other thing a like about this book is the humor - it seems like every recipe title is a play on words or pun, I think this book could sell equally well in the humor section! I can't decide what is more refreshing - the recipes or the book!

A nice addition to any healthy kitchen, this fruits-and-vegetables electric juicer produces fresh juice with a simple turn of a knob. Just place a glass or pitcher under the spout, insert fruit or vegetables into the 3-inch-wide feeding tube (cutting over-sized items into smaller pieces if necessary), and gently and slowly press down using the included pusher. The 700-watt unit delivers up to 22,000 RPMs and should be set to standard speed for most fruits and vegetables, or high speed for hard-skinned or tough foods. Get a nutritious start to your day with fresh tomato, carrot, apple, or orange juice--or invent your own healthy blend. This powerful (and some would say noisy) 600-watt juicer churns out a quart of juice in just one minute. An extra-wide feed tube saves chopping time since it accommodates whole tomatoes, carrots, and small apples, and the removable parts make this one of the fastest juicers to clean. To operate, simply turn the juicer on and insert washed whole or chopped fruits and vegetables through the feed tube--pulp and seeds will shoot out one side into the provided pulp container, and juice will pour out the spout. To catch the juice, you can use either a glass or a provided juice container with lid. The juice container features a handy divider to separate the juice from the froth when pouring. Weighing thirteen pounds, the juice extractor measures 15 by 6-1/2 by 16 inches and comes with a one-year warranty. A helpful instruction booklet that includes tips and recipes is included to get you started. This is a factory-reconditioned juicer which includes a 90-day manufacturer's warranty.

Weakness is in "Reconditioning" Purchased this and the XXJE95, 2 speed model. Basically, these are probably very good juice extractors, however, the reconditioning suffers from poor quality control. We've received a total of 5 juicers, all but the first arrived dirty and one even had a moldy filter. With this model, the initial problem was juice spraying out from all sides. The machine was assembled properly, the filter was clean, it just sprayed juice. The juice that made it into the glass was delicious. The replacement arrived looking more used than the first, however, it didn't spray juice. Having had it for only three days, let's hope it continues working. It is very important with these juicers to wash them immediately, as the pulp remains on the filter if you don't. Even though it's dishwasher safe, I like to wash everything by hand and always hold the filter to the light to make sure it's clean. I've also found that if you use a light touch in pushing your fruits/vegetables into the chute, you'll extract more juice and have drier pulp. Now on to the manufacturer -- Breville's customer service took a month to respond to my numerous calls and emails, then blamed Amazon. It's not Amazon who does the "reconditioning." Since these have a reduced warranty period and because Breville (actually HWI or Metro Thebe in the USA)has been slow in responding, I would not recommend purchasing one of these in other than new condition. Even at the sale Amazon prices, there's something unsettling about receiving appliances in less than clean condition. This is not a yard sale. Amazing Juicer I failed to find anything in "reconditioned" condition inside the box. The blade was new and sealed. The plastic parts didn't even have a single scratch or a use mark. The juicer is fantastic in what it does. Has increased our consumption of fruits and veggies 5 fold. We use it 2-3 times a week and have not found anything to complain about yet. The recipe book that comes with has some exciting combinations of juices etc. NOTE: From experience, clean the juicer IMMEDIATELY after use, this takes 2-3 minutes which can turn into 10-15 minutes if you wait longer. The brush provided with the juicer is the best bet for cleaning the blade. A Product Of Poor Design and Not Worth The $50.00 Invested I was really excited to find this juicer for only [...] as it is so much less than other juicers online. From my research people gave high review of almost all Breville Products and I almost purchased the top of the line one for [...] How glad I didnt as the so called reman. juicer I got is junk in my opinion and compared to other juicers I have it is messy to use and is messy to clean. The whole thing is clumsy putting together as just doenst seat properly until you get it just perfect and not that big of a deal but still annoying. I found that on a whole apple I had to apply alot of pressure and the it was about a second it devoured it. Sounds great but not the feel you are looking for, plus big junks of apple, carrot or whatever you are juicing is spitted into the reservoir. I have found that I need to rejuice the scraps and how messy that is trying to recut them as this juicer just SUCKS BIGTIME. I will Resell on Ebay as I will never buy a Breville product again as they look cool but are made in China by a not so good Manufacture I guess. I thought price was a steal for $50.00 delivered but not a steal when it functions half way and just in a few months that savings will be eaten up because of the fruits and vegatables being wasted and not juiced. I will stick with my old HealthMaster juicer built in the late 60's as it is all steel and kicks [...] compared to this one that has a 600watts and mine has under 200 but is built the old way and will just use until it wears out. I hope this review helps.

Juicing for Life: A Guide to the Benefits of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Juicing
By Cherie Calbom

From Publishers Weekly While Calbom and Keane promise no quick fix for various ailments, their simple-to-prepare natural "potions" fit the contemporary demand for instant--and healthful--gratification. Arranged alphabetically by ills (which range from acne to age spots to chronic fatigue syndrome, varicose veins and water retention), juice "cures" are touted here as "vitamin and mineral cocktails" that can detoxify the body and supplement the diet. Many of the same juice recipes work on sundry and specific ills; recipes for potassium broth, "very veggie" cocktail, "Cherie's cleansing cocktail," "ginger hopper," "garlic express" and "chlorophyll cocktail" are among the repeated panaceas. At the very least, juicing raw produce is a relatively direct means of introducing the vegetables recommended by nutritionists into daily habits. So while some will pigeonhole Juicing as just another New Age treatise, others--convinced of the place of the occasional juice fast in the diet--will find the volume fascinating, and well worth the investment in a juicer and organic produce. Copyright 1992 Reed Business Information, Inc. About the Author Cherie Calbom and Maureen Keane for Avery
The Joy of Juicing The benefits of juicing are enormous, by getting the essential vitamins and minerals from fruits and vegetables in a quick, digestible form. Juicing can provide a "meal in a glass" that can make a great snack or even a substitute for a meal in a calorie restricted diet, and for anyone who has to "eat and run", a tall glass of juice is the ultimate fast food. Part One is "The Basics", with excellent guidelines, including one page of "Juicing Tips" that I found useful. Part Two, "The Disorders", is the bulk of the book, and addresses common ailments and diseases, describes the condition, gives general recommendations, dietary modifications, nutrients that help, beneficial juices and suggested recipes. A wide range of disorders are discussed. Under "C" for instance, there is not only the obvious cancer and cholesterolemia (high cholesterol) listed, but also ailments like carpal tunnel syndrome, which is not usually thought of as being helped through nutrition ("The majority of carpal tunnel sufferers have been found to have low levels of vitamin B6", page 93), and also that bane of 40+ women, cellulite: "The good news is that cellulite can be reversed significantly" (page. 100), and the book tells you how. Part Three is "The Diet Plans", and has suggestions for everyday meals, with basic healthy eating, "Immune Support Diet", and many different types of cleansing diets and advice. Cherie "The Juicewoman" Calbom and Maureen Keane have a long list of credentials and "know their onions" in the field of nutrition, and if you believe that what you eat has a direct impact on you physical health and stress level, this is a good book to have in your library. Also recommended is "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" by James and Phyllis Balch. Great resource for curative recipes If you've wondered just what do do with your juicer, look no more! This is a practical book that not only espouses the curative properties of juicing, but gives an index of ailments and recommends various juices. From acne to cancer and fatigue to insomnia...they have it all. This is a good reference. by T.H. in San Mateo, Calif Excellent Juicing for Life, Health and Vitality What I love about this book is that ailments you wish to cure are listed in category order, which makes it quite easy to find a juicing recipe to help reverse the internal effects. Additionally, the book gives wonderful general recommendations along with an explanation of that ailment. On top of that, "Dietary Modifications" are provided with practical, easy to understand advice as to what foods and beverages to avoid, along with "Nutrients that Help" combined with "Beneficial Juices". Then, to top it all off there are great "Suggested Juicing Recipes" that will target whatever ails you. From anti-ageing to chronic fatigue syndrome, to underweight, this book is simple to follow and provides you with the knowledge of exactly what your system needs in order to maintain maximum health. Highly recommended if you want to improve your health, and bring nutrient-rich vitamins and minerals into your body naturally. best kitchen tool i've ever purchased I've owned this juicer for 8 years, and have never had a problem. Of course, I only juice apples, oranges, carrots, grapefruit, ginger, and beets, so I do not know how stuff like spinach, broccoli, wheatgrass, and the sort turn out. Clean-up involves brushing off 5 parts, which takes about one minute. Just buy a nylon bristle brush, make sure to use only warm water (never hot so as not to mis-shape the pieces), and clean immediately after use. To give you an idea of how economical this machine is, and juicing in general: yesterday, i bought an 18 pound bag of Texas Rio Red grapefruit for $6. There were 21 grapefruit, large and very juicy. I used 4 this morning to make three large beer mug-size glasses. That is 29 cents times 4, for a total of $1.20, approximately. $1.20 divided by 3 glasses is 40 cents. Very good compared to $3 or $4 at a juice shop, where they are normally adding apple juice from concentrate or ice. I just hope mine goes 27 years like the other reviewer's. Champion Juicer This is possibly the best juicer on the market. I have owned mine for twenty-seven (27) years! I have never had a problem with it, and it has aided me in improving my health. I beg to differ with the other reviewer, as I juice wheatgrass fairly often, with no trouble. This Company is a Nightmare to Work With! I got my Champion Juicer about 15 years ago, and LOVED it. It is a well made and versatile workhorse that does everything from grinding grain to making peanut butter. However do not be fooled by the new machines. They look the same, but the interior configuration is different. It does not work the way it is supposed to, and the company doesn't care. Several years after I got my juicer, my mother-in-law wanted to get a better juicer than the centrifigual one she already had. Upon MY advice, she gave away her old, reliable juicer and bought a Champion. I was shocked that the motor sounded loose and rattly, and the pulp came out wet and drippy. Hardly any juice came out. It was obviously a piece of junk that was either broken, or poor quality, or both. I called Whole Foods, where it was purchased, and they said that they did not offer any warranties on their juicers. They advised me to contact Champion directly. When I called the Champion company, the person who answered the phone was rude and defensive. She said that they had "upgraded" the unit, and that the noise simply reflected the "better" motor. She flatly denied that the machine could possibly be defective, and she said that the company policy does not allow refunds. She claimed that we must be doing something wrong - it didn't matter that I already owned one and knew how it was supposed to work. My only choice was to ship this extremely heavy machine back to California (AT MY OWN EXPENSE), or accept it as is! So my unfortunate mother-in-law had given away her good juicer, and was stuck with one that barely worked. It languished in her cupboard for a long time, unused. Now, several years later, she is caring for a sick family member, and desperately needs fresh juice. We lugged it out, thinking that it was better than nothing, but when we plugged it in today, it wouldn't even turn on. The machine is totally dead, and she did not even get a single full glass of juice from it! Of course, the company claims that "nothing is wrong with the machine". My suggestion is that if you want a good juicer, buy an Omega, or purchase a used Champion that is more than 15 years old.

From Breville

Breville JE900 Juice Fountain - If you take your juicing seriously, then you will definitely fall in love with the Breville Juice Fountain. It can do this with a powerful 600 watt motor and a patented extra large feed chute that can juice fruit & vegetables whole!
Amazon Sales Rank: #3881 in Kitchen & Housewares Brand: Breville Model: SE-900 Dimensions: 10.00" h x 14.00" w x 18.00" l, 12.00 pounds
--Ann Bieri Changing the World, One Apple at a Time… Unrivalled power meets highest quality components and revolutionary design in this life changing appliance. Touted as North America’s fastest juicer, after being timed making an 8-ounce glass of juice in an astonishing 5 seconds, the world’s fastest juicer might be a more apt description. Designed by innovative, world-renowned engineer Keith Hensel in 1999, the Breville Juice Fountain was the world’s first domestic juicer to accept whole fruit and vegetables with no chopping, peeling, slicing, or dicing. Named for its ability to produce literally a fountain of continuous juice, where other juicers generate a mere trickle, the JE900 Juice Fountain has seriously changed the way the world looks at juice. Where traditional juice extractors require time consuming preparation, feeding, and cleaning, the Juice Fountain completes the whole home juicing experience in less time than it takes to brew a cup of coffee. The Juice Fountain’s ability to juice whole fruit, to reduce juicing time by up to 90%, and to yield up to 30% more juice, stems from a combination of innovations. Even its unofficial tagline as "a juice bar in your own home" doesn’t do justice to just how fast and convenient the machine is. Thousands of families from Australia to Japan and everywhere in between enjoy fresh, healthy juice every day thanks to the Breville JE900 Juice Fountain. Amazing Innovations
10 stars would do this machine better justice... After my flimsy Juiceman Junior finally went to small appliance heaven, I decided to look around for a machine that I can actually live with = use it without hating to clean the thing afterwards. I'd never heard of Breville before, but the solid 5-star rating caught my eye. The idea of a wide enough feeder tube so I don't have to spend so much prep time was enticing, but what made me decide to buy the machine (cheaper some other place, look around) were the high marks on cleanup and performance. - Usually I don't write a review right away, but this juicer simply blew me away. What a beautiful piece of well thought-through craftmanship! Being German, I certainly prefer lasting performance over flimsy throw-away items, and this machine looks and feels like it will stand the test of time. I don't find the motor any louder than my previous machine, so that's not a problem. One reviewer wrote to put a damp paper towel around the pulp catcher rim to prevent tiny bits of pulp from flying out. I still had few tiny escapees, probably because I didn't do it right, but one quick wipe took care of it. Cleanup is indeed almost a joy compared to other machines. The mesh screen is build solidly, no plastic parts to wear out where it counts. This machine is worth every penny and then some, and I thank all previous reviewers for having helped me select such a wonderful piece of kitchen equipment! Wonderful product I got this machine as a birthday present and am over the moon about it. I've made some wonderful juices...papaya/apple, apple/carrot/ginger, and citrus mix. Anything I put in is thoroughly juiced...very little moisture is left in the pulp container. It is loud but this doesn't bother me at all. I do find that I have to cut the fruit into smaller wedges...whole apples, in spite of what's advertised on the box, do NOT fit down the spout. Still, a very minor point. I highly recommend this machine...for the price, you can't beat it. And clean-up takes all of 5 minutes if you're thorough. Even comes with its own scrub brush. After intensive research, this was the one I research almost everything I buy: my blender, coffeemaker, palm pilot, my car, electric razor, laundry detergent, etc. After about 5 hours of research, I decided on the Breville JE900. My mother has a juicer from the TV guy (Jack LaL...) which I thought was decent. But I wanted to try something different, and the Breville had the highest marks I could find for the price.Assembly was a snap after unpacking the box. While the juicer is mostly plastic, its high grade plastic and looks sharp on the counter. The biggest differences between the Breville and the Jack LaL... juicer are: 1) size, 2) cleanup, and 3) noise. The Breville is smaller (but juices just as much), MUCH easier to clean (the Breville mesh screen quickly snaps in and out, while the other one requires a special tool to unscrew the screen), and is louder than the Jack LaL juicer. All of the reviews I read said "the Breville is TOO LOUD." It may be a bit noisy, but it can crunch through hard pineapple, apple cores, grape stems, hard broccoli stalks, etc. Its a power-house!In summary, a great buy at a great price (I didn't pay the full price - I found a site that sold it for about $30 cheaper, but charged $16 for shipping). It arrived in 5 days and I've been using it everyday before and after work.Enjoy!

Metrokane Mighty OJ Citrus Juicer, White with Chrome Head and Handle
From Metrokane

Classic retro 50's design
Amazon Sales Rank: #32409 in Kitchen & Housewares Color: White Brand: Metrokane Model: 3502 Released on: 2004-08-16 Dimensions: 7.10" h x 7.40" w x 8.10" l, 4.35 pounds
Fun, funky, and oh-so-retro, the Mighty OJ Juicer not only makes squeezing limes, lemons, and small oranges a snap but claims a home in the Museum of Modern Art for its classic design. With durable all-metal construction, this particular model features a white baked-enamel body and a brightly polished chrome top and handle. Thanks to the rack-and-pinion gear system, up to 600 pounds of pressure are exerted on a citrus half during squeezing, so that every drop of juice is extracted from the fruit. No electricity is needed, and therefore there's no motor to burn out; the juicer is completely hand-operated. After use, the stainless-steel cone and funnel are easily removed and rinsed clean under running water. Weighing 4-1/2 pounds and standing 7-1/2 inches tall, the juicer takes up very little counter space and is covered by a lifetime warranty on moving parts. --Ann Bieri
A Rotten Juicer This dreadful little machine is too small to juice a medium to large orange. It will juice a small Valencia, but not very effectively. I would love to have my money back or even 1/2 my money back. Don't buy this "juicer." Mighty Oj Juicer We use this juicer for limes when we make margaritas - it works perfectly! Good juicer for small oranges It's true that this juicer works best with small oranges, as it won't get all the juice out of the bigger ones, and they might not even fit in the space provided to press them. But with the right size oranges, it works very well, and extract all the juice. I've been using it a lot this winter for fresh orange juice full of vitamins!

Amazon Sales Rank: #8404 in Kitchen & Housewares Color: Brushed Stainless Brand: Breville Model: 800CPXL Released on: 2005-09-01 Dimensions: 10.00" h x 17.00" w x 14.00" l, 15.30 pounds
Housed in professional-grade brushed stainless steel with an industrial strength, whisper-quiet motor, this powerful citrus press delivers fresh-squeezed juice quickly and easily. Simply press down on the soft-grip handle to activate the unit. Its revolutionary active-arm system features built-in sensors to monitor the arm position and safely activate the spinning cone as it comes in contact with the fruit. The unit's spherical fruit dome centers the fruit perfectly on the spinning cone, while two stainless-steel filters allow for variable pulp control depending on individual preferences. In addition, its die-cast stainless-steel juicing cone provides four strategically positioned multi-tiered fins. This unique Quadra-Fin technology effortlessly and efficiently juices any citrus fruit, from the smallest lime to the largest grapefruit, without the need to change cones. For added convenience, the unit's stainless-steel drip-stop juice spout can be flipped upward after juicing to stop the flow of juice and prevent any unwanted dripping or mess. The citrus press also includes a safety switching system, dust cover, cord storage, and easily removable dishwasher-safe parts for quick cleanup. The citrus press measures 7 by 16-1/2 inches and carries a one-year warranty.
Best Citrus Juicer I've Found at this Price We just received our Breville 800CPXL Citrus Press after the holidays and have used it several times since. Compared to the low-end (and much less expensive) plastic Krupps version we replaced (which kept tripping our GFCI), I rate this product 4.5 stars out of 5. It falls just short of perfection, but is nonetheless the most elegant and functional citrus juicer I've been able to find at this price point. LIKES: 1) Beautiful die-cast design feels substantial and stays put when pressing citrus. Kudos to the industrial design team for turning a juicer into a work of art. This is by far the best looking electric citrus press on the market. 2) Brushed stainless exterior goes with any decor and looks great on countertop. No reason to store it away. 3) Removable strainer and juice basin are easy to handwash (I recommend using a small brush or toothbrush to help clean out the pulp). 4) Can press an 8-oz glass of orange juice in less than a minute and works with lemons, mandarins, oranges, and grapefruits without changing elements. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: This juicer works well and beats others I've tried. However, there are a few areas that Breville engineers could improve in their next model. None of these recommendations should cause you to avoid purchasing this unit, but I list them here nonetheless since there's always room to improve most products: 1) Doesn't handle large grapefruit as well as I'd like. Still left some juice/pulp in the skin, which I squeezed out by hand. Breville could consider offering a larger snap-on attachment more suitably sized for pressing grapefruit. 2) Sometimes the skin of the orange remains stuck inside the top of the press, requiring manual extraction. Maybe I'm pressing too hard, but this still seems to happen from time to time. On a few occasions, I stalled the motor completely which surprised me. However, stalling the motor didn't cause the GFCI to keep tripping like the Krupps model we replaced. 3) The electrical cord is nicely designed, but a little too short. I'd prefer to see a 6' cord to reach to the nearest outlet while allowing flexibility in where to place the juicer on the countertop. 4) If you leave the juicer out on the countertop where there's a cabinet above, the handle (press) bangs against the top of the cabinet and requires a little finesse to pull it towards the edge of the countertop when you're ready to use it. The typical height between the countertop and bottom of a cabinet is 18" +/- 1" and often the face frame of the cabinet protrudes about 1/2" or so below the bottom of the cabinet underside. If Breville offered a locking position with the handle down, this wouldn't be a problem and it would be easier to slide out the juicer into position from the back of the counter. 5) The handle itself seems a little flimsy when compared to the rest of the die-cast machine. While it's functional and certainly strong enough, I would prefer a solid convex die-cast handle arm (oval cross section) versus the inverted "U" type cross section of the current design. Although the current arm does appear to be die cast, during the extraction process, juice and pulp tend to splatter on the concave underside of the handle. This makes cleaning the handle a little harder than it should if the handle cross section were convex on top and bottom. Overall, this is an excellent product with bold design and good looks. I recommend this model to anyone who wants to add freshly squeezed citrus to your daily or weekly regimen. I can't comment on the long-term reliability of the motor since we've only had the unit for a few weeks. But so far so good. Pretty Good for a While I thought this citrus juicer was very good when I got it in July of 2007. It is nicely finished in easy-to-clean stainless-steel, the lever action makes it less of a strain to get some pressure on the citrus, and it is fairly easy to clean the parts. I make about 1/2 - 1 cup of juice daily. After a couple of months, something bent or stretched or broke in the hinge mechanism, and it became a little loose. Everything kept working though. Well, the six month mark came yesteday, and it died. I juiced half of a lime, and when I put the other half in... nothing. I guess the internal switch that activates the motor when one depresses the lever failed. For $160, I would have hoped that it make to the one year mark. Who knows, maybe I can get it repaired or replaced, but I can no longer recommend this juicer without reservations. easiest to use home orange juicer I have the red-colored model(800CPXLR) of the otherwise identical juicer that I bought from Golda's Kitchen of Canada, while it was on clearance sale. It seems the red model is not available from U.S. dealers. It cost me a bit more to buy from a Canadian company because of the higher shipping cost and the currently unfavorable exchange rate, but to me the apple red color is much more visually appealing than the cold look of brushed stainless steel and was worth the extra cost. This is the highest quality consumer-grade citrus juicer on the market by a wide margin. All the parts that come into direct contact with juice are made of stainless steel and it is easy to clean. Even the cone is made of very heavy cast stainless steel, a rare feature among orange juicers. The juicer is very heavy as far as home-duty orange juicers go, on account of the heavy 110W motor and heavy cast metal components. The heft definitely spells quality. The 110W motor has plenty of power. It comes with 2 strainers, coarse and fine, but this is clearly a low pulp machine. The coarse strainer will pass through a moderate amount of pulp; the fine will pass through almost none. Folks who desire high pulp from this juicer will likely have to scrape up some pulp from the strainer with a spoon and add it to their cups. This is by far the easiest and fastest orange juicer I've ever used. Center a half orange on the cone and press the lever moderately hard and the pulp will be extracted cleanly from the orange. However, getting wet pulp off the orange is only half the battle. The other half of the battle is to extract juice from the wet pulp mesh using the strainer basket. For this machine, it does the first part with lightning efficiency, but on the second part it only does an average job. The overall result is that the total juice extraction rate is good, but not superb, because it does leave behind a considerable amount of very wet pulp in the strainer basket. The pulp has the consistency of wet apple sauce and I usually eat the tasty pulp after I finish drinking the juice. In comparison, very expensive commercial orange juicers ($600 and up) typically have a sieve spinning at 1500 rpm or so to extract every possible drop of juice from the wet pulp to give 15% to 20% more juice than home juicers. The missing spin feature is the only major design feature lacking that I really wish it had, but then the spin extraction feature is rarely found on consumer-grade machines. Another minor flaw is that the upper mold that fits on the cone is held loosely in the lever arm by a flimsy hard plastic snap ring. Daily removal of the upper piece will most likely wear off the snap ring's friction in short order. For this reason, it may be wiser to just wipe the upper piece clean after each juicing session instead of popping it out for washing, but it is held so loosely that wiping it softly is enough to make it pop out from the arm. In this price range, this is the best orange juicer I have seen yet.
