Sleek and sophisticated in its brushed stainless-steel and polycarbonate housing, this 850-watt juice extractor features two speed options--low speed for juicing soft fruits and vegetables and high speed for more textured fruits and vegetables. The unit's 3-inch-wide feed chute accommodates large pieces, while its 32-ounce capacity allows for making healthy vitamin-rich drinks for the whole family, whether it's juice made from fruits like apples and oranges or vegetables like carrots, celery, and beets. The pulp of the fruits and vegetables, which can be used for soups, sauces, jams, and desserts, automatically empties into its own easy-to-remove pulp collector during the juicing process. The detachable parts are dishwasher-safe and to clean the exterior, simply wipe down with a soft damp cloth. The juice extractor measures 10-1/2 by 8 by 13-3/4 inches and carries a five-year limited motor warranty. Editor's note: This is a reconditioned small appliance. Good Juice, Large Juicer, Noisy This is the first juicer I have owned. I have used juicers at my friend's homes so I had an idea of what I was looking for when I purchased this. First off since this was refurbished I was nervous especially after reading reviews of other brands of refurbished juicers. I fully inspected the juicer besides a few blemishes internally the juicer looks new. the box does say refurbished in big letters just to be aware if you are giving this as a gift. The juicer is large. Larger then any other appliance I have on my countertop. Luckily Ihave alot of counterspace in my kitchen. I wanted to be able to leave the juicer out because if it is tucked away in the pantry I am less likely to use it daily. The juicer looks great with my other stainless small and large appliances so though it is large taking up about twice the counterspace as a kitchenaid mixer it looks fine sitting out. One of the reasons I got this is I just like my kids am not a big veggie eater besides the regular corns peas and potatos. I thought I could sneak more vegies into my kids diet and mine. There are some rules according to the manufacter unlkike the desciption about what and how to juice. You do have to peel citrus fruits, and certain fruits like large apples have to be cut up. The speed you juice on depends on how hard/soft the fruit/veggie is. High speed for apples, pears ,carrots etc and low speed for citrus, spinach etc. I started by juicing a one large apple, one pear and one carrot. I got about 12 oz of juice from this combo which I was pleased with. It was very sweet so I could have hidden more veggies but I was happy to see me daughter drink the carrot without complaint. I have found if you are trying to add vegies without the veggie taste as long as you have an apple or pear base it should be sweet enough to take away any of the bitter veggie taste. I have found a few cons. The unit is a little hard to snap back togther after cleaning, with the hardest part to reassemble being the pulp catcher. if the container that catches the pulp is not snapped on tight then teh juicer will not turn on. The unit is easy to clean except for the filter. I have not found any easy way to clean the filter yet. The juicer is noisy. This is the biggest con for me. Ihave an autistic child and I have bought more expensive dishwasher, vacuums and washing machine because the noise bothers my child. This juicer is the loudest appliance I own. If I have all the ingredients ready to go juicing takes less then a minute . I try and juice right after my child goes to school. Overall I am happy with the purchase considering the price and quality. I would purchase again at the price I paid. Just wish the unit were a little smaller, less noisy and had an easier filter to clean. A Steal at $49.99 I hate to sound like all the other reviews, but beware of the size of this juicer. That said, this unit is a steal for $49.99 (Friday Sale). If I paid the $200 that this unit goes for new (not refurbished) I don't think I'd be nearly as happy. Although this unit takes up a lot of counter space, it's size means it's good for power and ability to make lots of juice quickly. The Waring is well designed and has a chute large enough for most needs. Unlike another review here, I have had no issues taking the unit apart or putting it back together. Overall I'd highly recommend this Waring if you don't mind it taking up a lot of counter space. And although it is a bit noisy, it's no worse than running a blender. One caveat for those of you making carrot juice, if you juice the carrots on the high setting, the juice comes out all frothy and gritty. If you use the low setting with carrots you'll be just fine. Great buy, no regrets This is my second juicer been using it for three months and its a great buy. I have a small kitchen in a one bedroom and yes it does take up more counter space than the average juicer but I did not want an average juicer I wanted an above average juicer and if you do too, then this gives bang for the buck than many of those costing above $200 bucks. I agree its no noiser than a blender and its a handsome piece of machinery. No regrets. yeah I wish cleaning the basket was easier but which juicer permits this?? Go for it.
